Calling all nature lovers—especially the young ones!
Celebrate Arbor Day Month with a fun and educational outdoor experience led by a certified arborist from the International Society of Arboriculture and a NYC Parks naturalist. Kids (and curious adults!) will learn how to identify trees, understand their importance, and explore how to care for them right here in our own city.
This event is perfect for families, school groups, and all tree enthusiasts. Whether you’re a budding botanist or just love being outdoors, come get your hands dirty and your minds full of tree wisdom!

LOCATION Meet-up: Franklin Avenue & Arnold Street at Jones Woods Park
Join us this Spring Break for a refreshing guided hike through the North Shore Green Belt Crescent! Explore the natural beauty of Staten Island’s Jones Woods, Goodhue, Allison Pond, and Snug Harbor Parks on this moderate-difficulty walking tour.
Led by NYC Parks, the New Brighton Citizens Committee (N.B.C.C.), and the S.I. Environmental Justice Coalition/Staten Island Urban Center, this event offers a unique way to learn about our local environment while enjoying the fresh air with family and neighbors.
The best part? It’s FREE and open to ALL AGES!
Bring the kids, bring your friends, and get ready to explore.
