Featured Speaker: Bijan Kimiagar, Ph.D. Associate Executive Director for Research of the Citizen’s Committee for Children of New York. He and his colleagues at the CCC.NY did in-depth research and wrote a detailed report titled “The North Shore of Staten Island: Community Driven Solutions to Improve Child and Family Well-Being.” Data driven research was used to formulate specific suggested changes for the welfare of North Shore Families. Other speakers on the panel: Adrienne Abatte, Executive Director of the Staten Island Partnership for Community Wellness. Her organization advocates for public health and social justice issues. Kelly Vilar, Founder and CEO of The Staten Island Urban Center, a community organization concerned with equity and self-determination. She also founded the Let’s Rebuild Cromwell Community Coalition. Sarah Blas, Equity and Community Impact Lead of the Staten Island Partnership for Community Wellness. She is also the founder of the Staten Island Therapeutic Gardens.
